BioMicro Systems Awarded A U.S. Patent On Its Invention Of A Method And System For Microfluidic Interfacing To Microarrays
Salt Lake City, Utah – June 28, 2007 – BioMicro® Systems today announced that it has been awarded U.S. Patent 7,223,363, which the company refers to as the “MAUI® Hybridization System Patent.” The MAUI Hybridization System Patent was awarded to BioMicro Systems for its invention of a microfluidic interface with microarrays. The MAUI System enables researchers the ability to achieve a 3-10 fold increase in sensitivity and consistent/reproducible results compared to traditional coverslip or static microarray hybridization methods. BioMicro Systems applied for the MAUI System Patent on March 8, 2002 and it was awarded May 29, 2007.
