SALT LAKE CITY, UT, December 18,
2003. BioMicro Systems announces the introduction of
the MAUI® Mixer HT, a new micro-volume hybridization
chamber optimized for the performance of high-temperature
microarray hybridizations using the company’s proprietary
MAUI® Hybridization System. The recently introduced
disposable hybridization chambers are optimized for
hybridizations performed at temperatures of about 50°C
to 65°C. A low-temperature hybridization chamber, adapted
for use at temperatures between 30°C and 50°C, is also
available.
“A growing number of researchers are performing high-temperature
hybridizations, typically at temperatures of about 62°C.
In order to meet customer demand, we have expanded our
product line to include MAUI Mixers optimized for higher
temperatures,” said Katie McDaniel, BioMicro’s MAUI
Product Manager. “The flexibility of the MAUI System
allows us to develop customized hybridization chambers
for special applications. We are interested in collaborating
with researchers and companies to develop a custom hybridization
solution that meets their individual needs.”
MAUI Mixers adhere to standard glass microarray slides
to form sealed, ultra low volume hybridization chambers
that allow overnight hybridizations to be performed
without sample loss or evaporation. The MAUI System’s
innovative design with active mixing results in better
uniformity and a 3-5-fold increase in sensitivity. The
MAUI System’s simplicity and ease of use also improves
consistency of results from experiment to experiment
and user to user.
