Salt Lake City, Utah – April 15,
2005 - BioMicro® Systems, Inc. announced today the
worldwide launch of its proprietary MAUI® 12-Bay Hybridization
System to meet the demands of high-throughput microarray
laboratories at the 96th Annual Meeting of the American
Association for Cancer Research (AACR). The MAUI 12-Bay
System has the capacity to simultaneously process twelve
microarray slides using its unique MAUI Mixer hybridization
chambers to achieve 3-10 fold increases in sensitivity
with ultra-low sample volumes. This new instrument will
be on display in the BioMicro Systems booth (#1559)
at the AACR Meeting taking place April 16-20, 2005,
in Anaheim, CA.
The MAUI 12-Bay Hybridization System is the latest addition to the MAUI
product line that includes the MAUI 4-Bay Hybridization System and its
complementary line of MAUI Mixer hybridization chambers. Through Active Mixing™
of ultra-low hybridization reagents at a constant incubation temperature use of
the MAUI Hybridization System results in a significant increase in sensitivity and
greater consistency of results.
“BioMicro Systems is excited about launching the MAUI 12-Bay Hybridization System
to target microarray users, especially cancer researchers, who require high-throughput,
high-quality results,” stated James Kuo, BioMicro Systems Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer. “Since MAUI 4-Bay established BioMicro as a leader in increasing microarray
sensitivity and consistency, we next wanted to improve throughput by allowing 12 slides
now to be simultaneously processed. The breakthrough MAUI 12-Bay System is the workhorse
many of our customers have been asking us for that can seamlessly and consistently produce
superior microarray hybridization results every time.”
MAUI 12-Bay System Key Features and Benefits include:
-3-10 Fold Increase in Sensitivity
-Low Sample Volume (10-46µl)
-Consistent and Reproducible Results
-Thorough and Efficient Active Mixing
-Shorter Hybridization Times
